To ensure the quality and safety of infant formula milk powder, CFDA enforced Administrative Measures for Product Formula Registration of infants and Young Children Formula Milk Powder on the 1 st of October. The purpose of this Measure is to solve the problems that some infant formula milk powder manufacturers developed their formula randomly and changed their formula frequently. In order to support smooth going of registration, other corresponding documents (e.g. Items and Requirements of Registration Application Documents for Product Formula of Infant Formula Milk Powder (Trial)) came out with detailed requirements for dossier preparation and registration process. Meanwhile, CFDA provided a transitional period for companies to cope with the new Measure. At the end of year 2017, CFDA published an official announcement which clarified and explained the transitional period for foreign infant formula milk powder producers.
