February 19-20th, 2019, ICMAD Technical/Regulatory Forum was held in Los Angeles, USA by the Independent Cosmetics Manufacturers and Distributors (ICMAD). Ms. April Guo, General Manager of Personal Care Division of CIRS, was invited as the guest speaker. Since 1974, ICMAD has provided essential guidance and support through business tools, publications, education, networking opportunities, and key advocacy support. ICMAD Technical/Regulatory Forum has a history of 14 years, whose theme is to provide cosmetics companies in various countries with updates of cosmetics laws and regulations in several major regions in the world, and to discuss the current hot trends of beauty industry. Hundreds of regulatory affairs managers, ceos, coos, r&d teams, scientists, toxicologists, Q&A managers, marketing managers, pharmacists attended the forum.
The first day of the two-day meeting focused on discussions about the updates from U.S. federal government and the Food and Drug Administration, and updates of Canada's cosmetics regulations. Experts did an in-depth discussion regarding topics of North American cosmetics market, the use of CBD oil and its extracts in cosmetics, cosmetics announcement, etc.
In the morning of the second day, April Guo and Erin Hill, president of IIVS China, introduced the latest news of China's cosmetics regulations and alternative tests, respectively. April introduced the imported non-special cosmetics filing system, cosmetics supervision and management regulations, e-commerce laws to American cosmetics enterprises. In the afternoon, experts from the EU, Latin America and the Asia-pacific region also introduced the latest trends of cosmetics regulations in those areas, respectively.
