CIRS Attended the Annual Meeting of Cosmetics Europe 2019

On Jun 12-13, 2019, the annual meeting of Cosmetics Europe (CEAC 2019) was held in Brussels, Belgium. April Guo, General Manager of Personal Care Division of CIRS, was invited as the guest speaker. Cosmetics Europe is the European trade association for the cosmetics and personal care industry with more than 50 years. The Cosmetics Europe Annual Conference (CEAC) is organised yearly to bring together international cosmetics and personal care leaders to discuss global trends and latest industry developments. April Guo and Brenda Lou from CIRS attended the meeting.

CEAC 2019 gathered over 300 industry experts, policy makers and companies, who discussed general, technical and regulatory developments in the cosmetics industry such as:

  • New horizons for the European Cosmetics Regulation,
  • Risk-based approach to safety assessment,
  • Latest update of China and India cosmetics regulations
  • A global solution for the unique product identifier
  • Microplastics restriction proposal
  • New frontiers of cosmetics in North America
  • Local regulatory challenges in a global e-commerce market
  • Latest developments in the SCCS world

In the section of China and India cosmetics regulations, April introduced the Latest update of China cosmetics regulations and highlighted the new regulation Management Measures on the Filing of Non-Special Use Cosmetics (draft version), new filing system for imported non-special use cosmetics and Cosmetics Supervision and Administration Regulation. The participants started a heat discussion regarding the waiving conditions of animal testing for imported non-special use cosmetics in the meeting.
