UK REACH: Grandfathering will be Re-activated for a Short Period of Time at the End of June

Grandfathering applies to all EU REACH registrations held by Great Britain (GB) based legal entities at any point between 29 March 2017 and 31 December 2020. Businesses that wished to continue manufacturing or importing the substance into GB were required to submit some initial data to the Comply with UK REACH service within 120 days of the end of the transition period (by 30 April 2021).

Although the option to submit the information required for grandfathered registrations is no longer available in the Comply with UK REACH IT system, this function will be re-activated for a short period of time at the end of June. This will give a small window of opportunity for those who were unable to submit their dossiers on time to complete the submission of the required information into UK REACH and come back into compliance.

Enterprises that are eligible to the grandfathering process can provide HSE with the following information to process grandfathering when it is temporarily activated:

• Substance Name:
• EC Number:
• CAS Number:
• EU Registration Number:
• Person and Email address to notify of re-activation date:
