On February 27, CIRS Group announced the launch of iCIMS, an intelligent chemical inventory management system, to help enterprises boost the digital transformation of chemical management and cope with various chemical regulatory challenges with ease.
Enterprises are facing numerous challenges in chemical management. Specifically speaking, chemicals are subject to various regulations (such as hazardous chemicals, dangerous goods, new chemical substances, and precursor chemicals) and different authorities (such as the customs, the Ministry of Emergency Management, and the Ministry of Ecology and Environment,) have varied requirements. Meanwhile, regulations and regulatory lists are constantly changing. If chemical management is simply done manually, it is easy to overlook information or make mistakes. Supposing all compliance work and data updating is operated by personnel, it may lead to low efficiency and stress. Enterprises without a standardized system of SDS, labeling, and document management may suffer from file loss or late updates, or low efficiency in inter-departmental communication.
To help companies resolve the above issues, CIRS Group released the iCIMS, an intelligent chemical inventory management system, to facilitate enterprises to boost digital transformation of chemical management and cope with various regulatory challenges with ease.
The iCIMS system incorporates an extensive chemical regulatory database, which supports enterprises to retrieve inventories and hazard information of chemicals in a precise manner; to manage SDS and GHS labels electronically; intelligently identify chemical management categories and compliance obligations; dynamically manage all kinds of compliance documents and set compliance alerts and real-time tracking, and generate the latest chemical lists and reports to cope with various regulatory requirements and reduce the risks of non-compliance.
Features of iCIMS
※Real-time tracking of chemical management and intelligent identification of chemical regulatory requirements;
※Automatic generation of GHS labels with QR codes; high efficiency of “one enterprise, one product with one code”; and
※Analysis of chemical compliance through the full lifecycle and obligations and dynamic management of compliance documents.
Main functions
►01 Real-time Tracking and Management of Chemicals
※ Real-time monitoring;
※ Quick detection of abnormal situations; and
※ One-click export of chemical management information.
The iCIMS system is able to track basic information on chemical types, components, and hazards, and search various criteria (such as chemical name, material code, CAS number, hazards, and SDS number). The iCIMS also provides the latest chemical inventory and regulatory compliance information which can be easily exported to improve management efficiency.
►02 Electronic Management of SDSs
※ Quick searching;
※ Multi-version management; and
※ Auto-reminder for updates.
The iCIMS enables employees and managers to search and download SDSs in various formats, easily acquire information on chemical hazards and emergency response, and import data automatically with the assistance of CIRS Group's SDS software. It also supports auto-reminders for SDS expiration.
►03 Automatic Generation of Integrated GHS labels
※ Integration of QR codes;
※ Labels in various formats; and
※ Compliance with regulatory requirements.
In compliance with GHS and identified management requirements on “one enterprise, one product with one QR code” by the Ministry of Emergency Management, iCIMS generates an integrated GHS label by combining its original label and the safety information code of hazardous chemicals. The system also provides labels in different formats and can be used in sectors such as import, export, storage, transport, and operation.
►04 Intelligent Identification of Chemical Management
※ Extensive database;
※ Intelligent engine; and
※ Dual identification system.
The iCIMS system includes the latest chemical regulatory requirements and regulatory inventories. It inserts an independently developed engine that can identify the regulatory categories of chemicals (especially mixtures) and generate the corresponding compliance obligations. A dual identification system featured with “automatic identification + expert verification” is adopted to improve its accuracy.
►05 Compliance Document Management and Expiry Reminder
※ Automatic generation of compliance documents;
※ Customized compliance documents; and
※ Expiration reminder.
The iCIMS system will automatically generate a list of required compliance documents based on the specified lifecycle of chemicals and regulations. It also supports the classified management of chemicals on qualification documents and compliance documents of materials, automatically recognizes the validity of documents, and sets expiration reminders.
