from CIRS by

Earlier this month, China Ministry of Industry and Information Technology released the Revised Rules for Classification and Labeling of Chemicals: Part 1 General Specifications for public notification. The newly released GB30000.1 is prepared based on the 7th edition of the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS). Comments can be made before 5 Apr. 2020.

After GB30000.1 is released, it will replace the current GB 13690-2009. Compared with the GB13690-2009, the GB30000.1 has made some amendments in several parts, including some terminologies and definitions, hazard types as well as the contents of appendix. But the GB 30000.1 does not record the classifications basis in details, thus it will not directly result in the addition or change of classifications. It is worth mentioning that Desensitized Explosives (H206, H207, H208) is not included in the current classification rules (GB30000.2-29).

It is estimated that the GB30000.1 will took effect 6 months after release.
