5 Substances are Newly Added as Precursor Chemicals in China

5 substances, including 1-Phenethyl-4-piperidone, N-phenethyl-4-phenylaminopiperidine, N-methyl-1-phenyl-1-chloro-2-propylamine, bromine and propiophenone, are managed as precursor chemicals in China, in accordance with a announcement released by China’s State Council on 5 December 2017.

These 5 substances are classified into two different categories. These are:

  • 1-Phenethyl-4-piperidone, N-phenethyl-4-phenylaminopiperidine and N-methyl-1-phenyl-1-chloro-2-propylamine are classified as Category I Precursor Chemicals; and
  • Bromine and propiophenone are classified as Category II Precursor Chemicals.

All the precursor chemicals are managed under the Regulation on the Administration of Precursor Chemicals . Enterprises dealing with the above substances should particular pay attention to their obligations during the process of manufacturing, operating, purchasing, transporting, importing and exporting of the substances.
